Mamaroneck fell just short of Suffern by a score of 35-33. It was the first time this season that Mamaroneck let down their fans at home.
Jephthah Joseph was on fire for Suffern: he rushed for 322 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Joseph was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Mamaroneck's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Suffern, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-3.
Mamaroneck will be playing in front of their home fans against Scarsdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Scarsdale and Mamaroneck are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Suffern, they will head out on the road to face off against Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carmel will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
