The Tabiona Tigers were the 56-54 winner over the Wendover Wildcats when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Tabiona was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 51-50 to the Wildcats. Tabiona has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Despite the loss, Tabiona still got an impressive performance from Chance Lazenby, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gavin Rhoades, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wendover to victory, but perhaps none more so than Efren Delmuro, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Shawn Duboise was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Tabiona's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3. As for Wendover, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Tabiona will head out on the road to face off against the Ravens at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Waterford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Wendover, they will be playing at home against the Miners at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tintic is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
