McNairy Central is 8-2 against Chester County since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bobcats will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. McNairy Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
McNairy Central's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Jackson South Side as they made off with a 21-0 win. The Bobcats have beaten the Hawks the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hawks has come to flipping the script.
Bailee Shelton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Callie Finlayson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carlee Shelton, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one double.
McNairy Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 26 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 11 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Chester County earned a 7-3 victory over University School of Jackson on Tuesday.
Chester County also got a great performance from Chloe Teague as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Chester County's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Addison Newland, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Ryan Whitman was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
The victory got Chester County back to even at 6-6. As for McNairy Central, their record now sits at 16-8.
Everything went McNairy Central's way against Chester County in their previous meeting last Friday, as McNairy Central made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
