Mission Bay is a perfect 4-0 against Crawford since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Buccaneers will head out on the road to square off against the Colts at 4:00 p.m. Mission Bay is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Mission Bay had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Francis Parker on Tuesday. The Buccaneers blew past the Lancers 7-1. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Abby Nelson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evie Horton, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Siobhan Ascherfield also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Mission Bay hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Crawford came up short against San Diego on Wednesday, falling 16-1. The loss continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the Cavers: they've now lost six in a row.

Mission Bay pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Crawford, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Everything went Mission Bay's way against Crawford in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Mission Bay made off with a 16-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
