Basketball Recap: Bishop Seabury Academy Piles Up the Points Against Northland Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Seabury Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Northland Christian 90-55. Given the Seahawks 's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 91st in Kansas, while Northland Christian are ranked 417th in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Seabury Academy was led to victory by Jace Smith and Marion Stubbs. Smith dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 18 boards, and 12 assists, while Stubbs dropped a double-double on 28 points and 17 rebounds. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Chase Honarvar, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Bishop Seabury Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Northland Christian had strong showings from Roman Carlson, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 22 points, and Caden Monnig, who went 5 for 7 en route to 14 points. Carlson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Bishop Seabury Academy, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Northland Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Bishop Seabury Academy will be playing at home against Kansas City Christian School at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bishop Seabury Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches. Northland Christian has already played their next game (against Heartland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
