The Alexander Spartans were the 70-59 winner over the Belpre Golden Eagles when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Alexander lost to Belpre at home by a decisive 61-42 margin on Saturday.
Belpre's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Derek Liston, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Blake Church, who scored 14 points.
Alexander's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Belpre, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Alexander will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairfield Union at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belpre, they will head out on the road to face off against Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
