Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warrensville Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tamarra Thomas, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Chelsea Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Buchtel's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Warrensville Heights, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Buchtel will head out on the road to face off against Washington at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Washington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Buchtel in Ohio (Washington is ranked 170th, while Buchtel is ranked 621st). Warrensville Heights and KIPP Tulsa University Prep will round out the year against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at. KIPP Tulsa University Prep is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
