Englewood has gone a perfect 3-0 against Arrupe Jesuit recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Pirates will look to defend their home field against the Generals at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Englewood blew Jefferson out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Jefferson got their revenge. The Pirates fell just short of the Saints by a score of 7-5. That makes it the first time this season the Pirates have let down their home crowd.
Rj Cullyford was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other batting news, Grant Pebbles made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Englewood is 3-1 when Pebbles posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Arrupe Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Arvada, falling 25-5.
Arrupe Jesuit saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Juan-Carlos Cadena, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Arrupe Jesuit's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Englewood, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Arrupe Jesuit's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Englewood has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Arrupe Jesuit, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Englewood keep running through batters, or will the Generals buck the trend?
Everything went Englewood's way against Arrupe Jesuit in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Englewood made off with a 16-1 victory. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
