It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Collins Hill Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North Cobb 45-14 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Collins Hill who now have three in a row.
Collins Hill was led to victory by Cam Jones and Tj Wilcox. Jones rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while Wilcox threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Deuce Geralds was another key contributor, gaining 62 total yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Collins Hill's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Geralds was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Collins Hill has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for North Cobb, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Collins Hill will head out on the road to face off against Milton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Milton's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games. North Cobb does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
