The Wisner-Pilger Gators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Clarkson/Leigh at home by a decisive 52-37 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wisner-Pilger of the 56-43 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Chloe Hanel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Clarkson/Leigh, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hanel has scored at least a third of Clarkson/Leigh's points. Another player making a difference was Baylee Settje, who scored 12 points.
Wisner-Pilger has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Clarkson/Leigh, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wisner-Pilger will take on North Bend Central at TBD on Thursday. As for Clarkson/Leigh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Twin River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Twin River has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
