Aledo (Texas) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 45-2 win over Arlington Heights (Fort Worth, Texas).
The Bearcats scored 21 points in the first quarter. Aledo scored on a
Caleb Frysinger touchdown run, a touchdown, a
Pate Davis touchdown pass to Frysinger, a touchdown, a touchdown pass by Davis to
Willie Gibson and a touchdown.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Frysinger in the first quarter, AHS led 35-0 at the half.
The Bearcats expanded their lead to 45 points entering the fourth quarter. Aledo scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Davis.
Davis stood out for AHS in the win. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.
In a 4A Region I District 7 game next week Aledo (3-1) takes on South Hills, and Arlington Heights (1-3) will go up against Trimble Tech also in a 4A Region I District 7 game.
