Jacob Newborn Delivers Electric Performance Vs Sabino
Starting off the list is Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's Jacob Newborn, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Newborn threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
The win (which was Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Lions takes on Morenci at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bingham Posts Huge Game in 42-16 Win
Kody Bingham was a major factor in Thatcher's victory over Show Low on Friday. Bingham did his part (and then some), rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries for the 'W'.
Thatcher's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Bingham and Thatcher will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Safford at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

A Season-Best Effort from Julian Aragon Leads Morenci over Safford
Morenci came up short on Friday despite Julian Aragon delivering his best game to date. Aragon rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (116.7).
Morenci is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Wildcats takes on Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Zachari Haley Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Sadly, Zachari Haley posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Sabino over Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on Friday. Haley rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (104.7) per game. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 72 yards.
Sabino is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. Haley and Sabino will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on ALA - West Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.
