The Mt. Hermon Yellowjackets lost against the Amite Warriors back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Mt. Hermon took a serious blow against Amite, falling 47-8. Mt. Hermon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-0.
Amite's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayla Toefield led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 5 steals. Toefield hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Miracle Irving was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 3 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Mt. Hermon and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Amite, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Mt. Hermon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pope John Paul II at 5:00 p.m. on January 15, 2024. As for Amite, they will be playing at home against Mandeville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mandeville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
