Softball Recap: Evadale Comes Up Short

Evadale dropped down to 6-11 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Deweyville Pirates, falling 8-2. The Rebels were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but the Pirates' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Deweyville, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-12-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory they have posted against Evadale since March 29, 2022.

For Deweyville's part, B Williams made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Williams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, B Revere was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Morgan Clark also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evadale will take on Hull-Daisetta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deweyville, they will challenge Danbury at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
