The Holy Cross Lancers will venture away from home to face off against the Burlington Township Falcons at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
On Wednesday, Holy Cross got the win against Pennsauken by a conclusive 8-1. The victory continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won five in a row.

Jamie Dunn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alana McCormick and Jayla Bullock did most of the damage at the plate: McCormick went 2-for-4 with four runs, while Bullock went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those four runs gave McCormick a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Burlington Township waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Falcons have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Gabby Morgan, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Hopewell Valley Central off the board.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trista Davis, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Melanie Wiesniewski was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Burlington Township's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Holy Cross, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Holy Cross has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Burlington Township struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Holy Cross was able to grind out a solid win over Burlington Township in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
