The Universal Academy Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Brandon Academy, falling 82-13. Universal Academy has struggled against Brandon Academy recently, as their match on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brandon Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Hawes, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Hawes' third in a row with at least ten points. Lorenzo Bevilacqua was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Universal Academy bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Brandon Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10.
Universal Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Classical Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Classical Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Brandon Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Cristo Rey Tampa at 5:00 p.m. on January 11th.
