Braxton County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-4. They came up short against the Ravenswood Red Devils, falling 15-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Braxton County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Conley, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That run was Conley's first of the season.
As for Ravenswood, they now have a winning record of 2-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.
On Ravenswood's side, Joe Casto and Brooks Wolfe were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Casto struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Wolfe pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts Casto has posted since back in April of 2025. At the plate, Casto got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run, while Wolfe went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Nic Akers was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Lucas Pursley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Coming up, Braxton County will welcome Poca at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Dots have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Ravenswood, they are taking a road trip to challenge Clay County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
