Last Tuesday, Father McGivney Catholic suffered a tough 56-32 defeat at the hands of Marquette Catholic. Father McGivney Catholic has not had much luck with Marquette Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Father McGivney Catholic had strong showings from Nolan Keller, who scored 18 points, and Noah Garner, who scored 11 points. Keller scored a full 56.3% of Father McGivney Catholic's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Christ Our Rock Lutheran's 30-3 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. Their tough 71-46 defeat to Althoff Catholic on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Christ Our Rock Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 590th, while Althoff Catholic is ranked 79th).
Father McGivney Catholic now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Father McGivney Catholic took a serious blow against Christ Our Rock Lutheran in their previous meeting back in January, falling 62-31. Can Father McGivney Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
