Softball Recap: Blue Ridge Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Blue Ridge entered their tilt with Okaw Valley on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Timberwolves a 10-0 shutout. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Lillian Enger was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three runs. Ellie Hayward was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Blue Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Blue Ridge back to even at 9-9. As for Okaw Valley, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge will take on Heritage at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Okaw Valley, they will square off against Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Timberwolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
