1A North Central recap September 17, 2013
Holyoke took down Highland 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bradley Cumming ran for 155 yards in the win.
Wiggins made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,790 from 7,180.
Cumming was the most successful running back in 1A North Central this week. Teammate Dylon Kotch added to the ground attack by rushing for 55 yards.
Baylor Buck put up the best numbers through the air as Wray defeated Yuma. He finished with 5 completions for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns. Buck's favorite target this week was Jonas Cure, who caught 2 passes for 35 yards.
Austin Clapper made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eagles defeated the Indians. The 5-foot-10 senior racked up 2.0 sacks.
Jaden Koenig was the best wideout in the league this week as Yuma fell to Wray. Koenig tallied 4 receptions for 75 yards. Conner Blach helped Yuma's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 31 yards.
Cumming was a passing and rushing force as the Dragons defeated the Huskies.
On the heels of Nathaniel Ruble and Jacob Baca, Cornerstone Christian Academy has had great success on offense. Ruble is tops in the league in passing with 402 yards, while Baca has rushed for 446 yards this season. Tops in the league in receving yards is Levi Kramer's team's Cure, with 118 yards on 9 catches.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Holyoke takes on the Bulldogs. As it stands, John Zilla's team is in second, while Cornerstone Christian Academy is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when the Dragons and Tim Naiman's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Holyoke comes in having scored 116 this season, while the Bulldogs have scored 152. The Dragons scored 42 points last week as they beat Highland.
