The Ingalls Bulldogs lost against the Bucklin Red Aces last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Ingalls fell 57-49 to the Red Aces. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ingalls in their matchups with the Red Aces: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tessa Irsik, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Irsik continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elly Jo Tancayo, who scored 11 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bucklin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmerson Kirk, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Sydnie Jones, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Ingalls' loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Bucklin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ingalls is on the road again on Friday and plays the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Dighton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 90th). As for Bucklin, they will head out on the road to face off against the Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
