Georgetown extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 8-1. They walked away with a 50-40 win over the Lake Belton Broncos. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Leading Georgetown to victory were Jett Walker and Kaleb McDougle. Walker rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while McDougle threw for 282 yards and three TDs while completing 87% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave McDougle a new career-high in passer rating (165.2). Georgetown's leading receiver Xavier Warren was McDougle's top target yet again, picking up 131 receiving yards and one score.

Despite the defeat, Lake Belton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zyien Dupree rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Dupree really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Davion Peters, who gained 132 total yards and two touchdowns.
Georgetown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 60-52 loss against Cedar Park on the 7th. As for Lake Belton, they have also already played their next game, a 53-20 victory against Chaparral on the 6th.
