Carver High School of Engineering & Science entered their tilt with the Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Carver High School of Engineering & Science walked away with a 64-56 win over Abraham Lincoln on Wednesday. Given Carver High School of Engineering & Science's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Abraham Lincoln is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science found their leader in underclassman Fareed Brown, who scored 30 points. Brown has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samir Roberts-mouzon, who scored three points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Abraham Lincoln's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Montgomery, who scored 14 points. The match was Montgomery's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Samair Peterson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Abraham Lincoln, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver High School of Engineering & Science won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Academy at Palumbo at 5:00 p.m. on December 21st. As for Abraham Lincoln, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lower Moreland at 6:15 p.m. on December 27th.
