The Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. Their rough 60-35 defeat to Leland might stick with them for a while. Grand Traverse Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-15.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alleah Dix, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals. Dix hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Breanna Graczyk, who scored four points along with five steals.
Grand Traverse Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Leland, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Traverse Academy will take on Traverse City HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Leland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cadillac Heritage Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cadillac Heritage Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
