The biggest upset of the week belonged to Westlake, who defeated 28th ranked St. Bonaventure, 31-17. Malik Henry threw for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 16 yards during the win.
The Warriors moved up to 54 from 81 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Marmonte - East. Westlake climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Seraphs 31-17.
Henry provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Jim Benkert's team defeated St. Bonaventure. Henry's favorite target this week was Andre Baccellia, who caught 6 passes for 111 yards.
Daniel Prieto threw for 159 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Matthew Matlock was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 128 yards as Newbury Park topped John Muller's team. Austin Godinez also contributed to the rushing game with 46 yards on the ground.
6-foot-1 quarterback Davis Pinkston of Simi Valley is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,260. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Baccellia. The Westlake star has 26 catches for 459 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Royal takes on Westlake. The Highlanders are in third place, while the Warriors are in second place.
Royal lost to the Panthers 37-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
