The St. Patrick Fighting Irish's's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bay Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th.
Last Tuesday, St. Patrick had to suffer through a rough 55-13 loss at the hands of Laurel. St. Patrick was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-8.
Bay has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Poplarville 51-26. Given Bay's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Poplarville is ranked 216th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Patrick bumped their record down to 4-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
St. Patrick came up short against Bay in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 36-25. Can St. Patrick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
