It was a good run, but the Adams Central Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 52-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cross County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Adams Central has scored all season.
Shyanne Anderson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cross County, scoring 14 points along with five assists and three steals. Anderson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eden Peterson, who scored eight points.
Adams Central's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1. As for Cross County, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Adams Central will square off against York on Tuesday. York will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Adams Central is ranked 12th). Cross County will be home for the holidays to greet Centura at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Centura: 28.7, Cross County: 29.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
