The West Elk Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Remington Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, West Elk's game was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Argonia with a 41-36 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for West Elk.
Meanwhile, Remington was able to grind out a solid victory over Republic County on Friday, taking the game 48-35. Given Remington's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Republic County is ranked 294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The win got West Elk back to even at 4-4. As for Remington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
West Elk might still be hurting after the 50-24 defeat they got from Remington in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can West Elk avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
