Having just played yesterday, the Marlboro Academy Dragons will get right back to it and host the Conway Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marlboro Academy has three straight wins, Conway Christian has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Marlboro Academy has not done well against Dillon Christian recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Marlboro Academy strolled past Dillon Christian with points to spare, taking the game 75-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Conway Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 46-41 to Lee Academy. Conway Christian has struggled against Lee Academy recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Wyatt Polatty put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points.
Marlboro Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Conway Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Everything went Marlboro Academy's way against Conway Christian in their previous meeting back in January as Marlboro Academy made off with a 65-42 win. Will Marlboro Academy repeat their success, or does Conway Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
