Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Legacy Charter Eagles walked away with it. They breezed by the Explorers at home to the tune of 71-30 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but Legacy Charter sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Maven Marrero was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 22 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kyle James, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Legacy Charter is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
Legacy Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Moore Haven at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Legacy Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Moore Haven likes a good challenge. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
