The Hanks Knights will face off against the Abilene Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hanks is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Even though Hanks has not done well against Ysleta recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Hanks strolled past Ysleta with points to spare, taking the game 35-19.
Michael Oliver continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 221 yards and two touchdowns. Oliver is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Marcus Porras was another key contributor, rushing for 47 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Abilene waltzed into two weeks ago's match with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 24-14 win over Amarillo.
Chad Lara and Brayden Henry were among the main playmakers for Abilene as the former rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson Howle also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.
Their wins bumped Hanks to 6-4 and Abilene to 8-2.
