The Crest Lancers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Southern Coffey County 80-7 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-2.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Golden, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Brody Hobbs was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight steals.
Crest's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Southern Coffey County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Crest will be playing in front of their home fans against Erie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Erie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Southern Coffey County, they will take on Veritas Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
