Bolivar Central has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Bolton Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Bolivar Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 57-52 win over Fayette Ware.
Bolton can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They secured a 69-64 W over Haywood. The win was just what Bolton needed coming off of a 77-56 defeat in their prior match.
E'derian Washington and Kylan Collins were among the main playmakers for Bolton as the former scored 21 points and the latter scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Collins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Caswell, who scored nine points.
Bolivar Central's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Bolton, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
Everything went Bolivar Central's way against the Wildcats in their previous meeting on Saturday as the Tigers made off with a 77-56 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bolivar Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
