If the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners were feeling good off their 72-18 takedown of the Eldorado Sundevils last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Southeast Career Tech fell just short of Cheyenne by a score of 54-51. The matchup was a 19-19 toss-up at halftime, but Southeast Career Tech was outscored by Cheyenne in the second.
Despite the loss, Southeast Career Tech still got an impressive performance from Morgan Sweet, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bianca Vazquez, who scored eight points along with six assists and two steals.
It was another big night for Nita Franklin, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks for Cheyenne. That makes it five consecutive games in which Franklin has scored at least a third of Cheyenne's points. Elissa Sambo was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Southeast Career Tech has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Cheyenne, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast Career Tech will take on Somerset Academy Losee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerset Academy Losee is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Cheyenne, they will be playing at home against Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
