The Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles will head out to take on the Logan Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodrow Wilson hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Woodrow Wilson nor Greenbrier East made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Flying Eagles fell 4-1 to the Spartans.

Aubrey Smallwood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Woodrow Wilson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hadley Reott, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Logan faced Independence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wildcats walked away with a 7-3 win over the Patriots.
Myleigh Adkins made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Adkins was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ashlin Brumfield was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Logan is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Woodrow Wilson, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Woodrow Wilson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Logan struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
