After flying high against the Oxford Wolverines last Friday, the Torrington Raiders came back down to earth. Torrington took a 79-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans on Tuesday. Torrington has not had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luca White, who scored 23 points along with eight assists. Another player making a difference was Logan Tucciarone, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Andrew Williams, who scored 37 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for Waterbury Career Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Williams, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Torrington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Torrington will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wolcott is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilby has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,030 points over their last 13 matchups.
