The Wausau East Lumberjacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 63-47 fall against Wausau West. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wausau East of the 51-44 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Wausau West's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harper Mead, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Kelly Kray was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Wausau East dropped their record down to 7-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Wausau West, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season.
Wausau East will head out on the road to challenge Newman at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wausau West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marshfield at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
