The East Pennsboro Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 38-12 margin over Waynesboro. Considering East Pennsboro has won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
East Pennsboro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jj Gossard, who rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Elliot Bruhn, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.
East Pennsboro's win was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Waynesboro and 4-7 Kennard-Dale (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.3% over those games). As for Waynesboro, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
East Pennsboro will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lampeter-Strasburg at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Waynesboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
