Vaila Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and 11 unearned) runs off ten hits. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Maddie Wagner was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Kossakowski, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Aurora Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chicago Hope Academy only posted a batting average of .167.
Aurora Christian's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14. As for Chicago Hope Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
