Robert C. Byrd took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Philip Barbour as they made off with a 10-3 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Colts since May 11, 2022.
Xavier Carvelli made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Robert C. Byrd's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 8-1 (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Carvelli was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, James Barnett was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. JD Ford was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Robert C. Byrd always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Philip Barbour only posted an OBP of .375.
Meanwhile, Keyser never let their opponents score on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Berkeley Springs.
Like Robert C. Byrd, Keyser also got a great game from a two-way player: Landon Tysinger. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tysinger was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Sawyer Rodeheaver tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Holland, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
Keyser's win bumped their record up to 6-17-1. As for Robert C. Byrd, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.
