Aloha is 1-9 against Jesuit since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Sunday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Crusaders at 5:00 p.m.
Aloha is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Mountainside on Wednesday. They came up short against the Mavericks, falling 10-1.
Aloha saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nellie Foust, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Jesuit came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Beavers. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by 11 runs or more this season.
Adalyn Rhyne tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Selah Greene was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Liz Jacobs, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Jesuit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .568. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Aloha, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-18.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Sunday. Aloha hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Jesuit struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
