Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Preble Shawnee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashleigh Mondello-garrett, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, nine rebounds, and 11 steals. Those 11 steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Unger, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Tri-County North's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bella Cherry, who scored 11 points along with four steals, and Jordan Pinion who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pinion has scored all season.
Tri-County North struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Preble Shawnee's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Tri-County North, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Preble Shawnee will take on Eaton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Eaton is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Tri-County North, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Troy Christian at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Troy Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
