The Haralson County Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 11th straight loss. They took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Zion. Haralson County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Payton Waters was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Mt. Zion. Another player making a difference was Austin Waters, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Haralson County's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Mt. Zion, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season.
Haralson County will head out on the road to face off against the Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fannin County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Rebels in Georgia (the Rebels are ranked 234th, while the Rebels are ranked 496th). Mt. Zion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
