The Bloomfield Bobcats won the last time they faced the Shiprock Chieftains, and things went their way on Saturday too. Bloomfield walked away with a 53-46 win over the Chieftains.
It was another big night for Andrew Florez, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Bloomfield's points. Another player making a difference was Sam Slivers, who scored 15 points.
Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Shiprock, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomfield's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. One thing working in Aztec's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for Shiprock, they will head out on the road to square off against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kirtland Central will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
