The Providence Country Day Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 39-17 loss at the hands of Hope. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Providence Country Day has scored all season.
Hope can attribute much of their success to Sa-moni McKay, who scored 14 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which McKay has scored at least a third of Hope's points.
Providence Country Day's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.3 points per game. As for Hope, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Providence Country Day will look to defend their home court on Friday against Central at 6:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Central is ranked 47th, while Providence Country Day is ranked 38th). As for Hope, they will head out on the road to challenge Blackstone Valley Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
