The Davis Spartans will be home for the holidays to greet the Riverbank Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Even though Davis has not done well against Modesto recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Davis secured a 61-56 W over Modesto. That's two games straight that Davis has won by exactly five points.
Riverbank has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 65-42 margin over Oakdale. The win made it back-to-back wins for Riverbank.
Riverbank's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rolando Bazan, who scored 18 points. The game was Bazan's third in a row with at least ten points. Will Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Davis' win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Riverbank, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Davis lost to Riverbank at home by a decisive 54-40 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Davis, Diego Felix (who scored 17 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
