Softball Recap: Lincoln's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Lincoln's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the St. Mary's Rams with a sharp 11-1 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.

Lincoln let Mia Pamplona and Nicole Domingo run wild. Pamplona went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Domingo scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Pamplona has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Alicia Ott, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Mary's only posted an OBP of .250.

The victory snapped Lincoln's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-11 record. As for St. Mary's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Coming up, Lincoln will host Lodi at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Flames' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Mary's, they will face off against Tracy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
