The North Miami Beach Chargers will be home for the holidays to greet the Central Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in North Miami Beach's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
Last Monday, North Miami Beach strolled past Miami Springs with points to spare, taking the game 71-53. Given North Miami Beach's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Miami Springs is ranked 754th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Jeremy Gerfarrd, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jaycob Joseph, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Central beat Dr. Krop 60-54 on Tuesday.
North Miami Beach's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
North Miami Beach beat Central 73-62 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Central's Seon Betton, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for North Miami Beach to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
