Jay Chapman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with three RBI and one double. Meanwhile, Lakeside School gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Wilcox Academy with a sharp 17-1 win. The Chiefs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 30 matches by six runs or more this season.
Carson Scott made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Lakeside School has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 49-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Coosa Valley Academy, their record is now 15-19.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Coosa Valley Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lakeside School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Coosa Valley Academy suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Lakeside School in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
