Last Wednesday, Copper Canyon strolled past Independence with points to spare, taking the game 49-33. The win made it back-to-back wins for Copper Canyon.
It was another big night for Bri'ann Felix, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Copper Canyon's points. Another player making a difference was Zalaya Dupre, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, ten rebounds, and ten steals.
Meanwhile, Youngker scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 57-48 victory over Washington. The win was just what Youngker needed coming off of a 80-30 defeat in their prior matchup.
Copper Canyon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Youngker, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Copper Canyon won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting on January 9th, slipping by Youngker 57-56. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Youngker's Ashlee Gonzalez, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
